The Serene Squall is a Grade 4 Epic Survey ship with a combat mining twist. It is built to take on Epic Transogen and Suliban Revenge Hostiles. It is the premier ship for Epic Transogen mining at Tier 1. It needs Shipyard level 30 or higher. It is an Independent faction ship with 18 tiers and 90 levels.
You can build it when you have the blueprints and Shipyard level 30. You can collect 2 blueprints per day using Uncommon Refined Transogen in the Transogen refinery. Automated Defenses is its active ability, available at Tier 1. It gives strong combat bonuses against Suliban hostiles and other players while mining. Activate it before you start mining, or Suliban hostiles can destroy you instantly. Two passives help: Transogen Haul raises the mining speed of Raw Epic Transogen in Transogen Space, and Black Flag raises loot from Suliban Stealth Cruiser hostiles in Epic Transogen systems.
Transogen Tempest Immunity lets the Squall survive the storms in Transogen Space, which would destroy most ships. High Protected Cargo lets it carry far more protected cargo than a typical ship, so mining runs are longer and safer. Research can unlock a Jump Drive for instant travel across long distances via Jump Nodes. Its mining and combat on Common, Uncommon and Rare nodes need more research to reach full efficiency.
