USS Discovery: the Summoning ability, explained

MID GAME 1 min read
KEY POINTS
  • The USS Discovery can instantly summon your other ships to its system, whatever their warp range.
  • You need the ship and the 'USS Discovery Summoning' research in the Galaxy Research tree.
  • Only Available ships can be summoned. The cost is paid when the summoned ship starts to warp.
01 WHAT SUMMONING DOES

The USS Discovery can instant warp to a system. Then its Summoning ability opens a hole in the Mycelial network and pulls your ships to it instantly. (Our records list it as a Rare Grade 3 Explorer.) It can summon any ship, regardless of warp range. Use it to summon mining ships when their cargo is full, or to bring warships where you need them.

02 UNLOCKING AND USING IT

To unlock Summoning you need the USS Discovery ship and the 'USS Discovery Summoning' research in the Galaxy Research tree. Once unlocked, it appears as a new button in the Discovery ship action panel. A summoned ship appears in the system where the Discovery is. It only works on Available ships, and only once the cost requirements are met. The cost is paid when the summoned ship begins its warp. If it does not work, check these points. Your Discovery must be available, not in combat, warping, repairing or tiering up. The ship you want to summon must be available and in a different system. You need enough resources for the Summoning and for any Transwarp cell cost of the trip.
