When the El-Aurian homeworld was destroyed by the Borg Collective in the 23rd century, many survivors were scattered among the stars. A number of them took refuge within the Federation, with some even going on to serve in Starfleet. Those refugees who enlisted in Starfleet quickly earned their places among their newfound family, and rose to prominent positions of power and authority in various fields and disciplines. The El-Aurian contingent of Starfleet would frequently request salvage runs to their homeworld in order to retrieve any surviving facets of their culture that could be salvaged from the Borg. One of those salvage runs yielded schematics for Prohibitor-class warships, of which a prototype was eventually commissioned. This uniquely modular, evolving prototype was constructed under the supervision of Starfleet's finest ship-builders. The SS Revenant is one of the last surviving Prohibitor-class warships in active service. Sporting some of the most sophisticated technology Starfleet has to offer, this El-Aurian phantom was designed to strike fear into the hearts of those thought incapable of comprehending such emotions, and does so with fearsome precision.
