01 SEVEN MORE FACTIONS, MOST OF THEM ONE-WAY

Federation, Klingon and Romulan aren't the whole story — Star Trek Fleet Command has added seven more factions over time, each tied to its own building, mission chain, or Operations-level gate rather than to the map regions the original three occupy. The good news for anyone juggling multiple factions already: Rogue, Bajoran, Ex-Borg, Terran Empire and Augment are all positive-only, meaning your reputation with them can only go up. There's no rival-faction tradeoff and no risk of losing standing by playing normally, which makes them a safe target to chip away at alongside whichever of the Big Three you're actively grinding.

02 ROGUE (OUTLAW)

The Rogue Faction — also called Outlaw — represents the pirates and smugglers operating outside the three major powers, and it's unlocked the moment you earn any Rogue reputation at all; completing the "Scouting" mission or finishing the Stella's Outlaw Research both hand you 50 points to get the store open immediately. Reputation comes from Outlaw missions, Rogue events, and specific store packs, and it buys access to Outlaw research tied to Eclipse space. The store itself runs on two currencies — Eclipse Security Codes from killing Eclipse Hostiles, and Eclipse Armada Loot from Eclipse Armadas — and sells Uranium, Outlaw research unlocks, warp tokens, recruit chests and Independent Credits. The Stella is the faction's signature ship: scrapping it yields Stella Particles and a Hull Scan that feed straight back into upgrading the ship further, and prices in the Rogue Store climb as your reputation rises, reflecting the Outlaw economy's own unpredictability.

03 BAJORAN

Bajoran reputation opens up at Operations 35, once you finish part 5 of either "One Man's Villain" or "Doctor Tailor Soldier Spy" (a launch-month gift pack also unlocked it automatically for early players). It's positive-only like Rogue, and the only way to earn it is by buying the daily Reputation Chest from the Faction Store — there's no combat grind involved. The faction runs on two currencies, Bajoran Faction Credits and Bajoran Faction Tokens, both earned by defeating Jem'Hadar hostiles or Solo Armadas in Dominion Space. What makes Bajoran worth pushing is Bajoran Favors — permanent bonuses bought with Credits or Tokens once you hit the reputation tier that unlocks them, covering everything from extra Jem'Hadar loot to faster reputation gains to broader efficiency boosts across resource collection and combat.

04 EX-BORG

Ex-Borg reputation unlocks at Operations 38 through the mission "We Are People Too," and it's positive-only. Once unlocked it adds two new Daily Goals — Freebooter Hunt (defeat 2 Freebooters) and Freebooter Dominance (defeat 6) — which reward Ex-Borg Reputation and Credits; expect a wait until the next daily reset before those goals actually appear. Credits spend into the Ex-Borg Research Tree (material cost cuts, faster mining, combat stats like piercing and mitigation) or into faction store chests that scale with your ship tiers. At Operations 40+, the faction opens onto the Delphic Expanse — over 15 systems full of Xindi hostiles, the first hostiles in the game built around multiple stacked combat buffs that need to be countered rather than out-tanked; the Particle Beam Delay boon (unlocked at reputation Bracket 10) is the key tool for disrupting their weapons. Xindi hostiles drop Xindi Scraps, tradeable for more Ex-Borg Credits, and the store adds over 25 Favor upgrades on top.

05 TERRAN EMPIRE (MIRROR UNIVERSE)

The Terran Empire is the Mirror Universe's ruthless counterpart to the Federation, unlocked at Operations 40 by claiming the launch-day bundle or finishing "Let the Games Begin" at the Holodeck. It runs on 10 named reputation ranks from Outsider up to Renowned, and rewards split into two tracks: pinnacle rewards for top Arena or Faction-Tier finishers (including the exclusive Mirror Universe Uhura officer), and chase rewards available simply by climbing the ranks — Mirror-universe officers like Picard, Data, Kira, Ezri and Troi, cosmetics, and the Emperor Georgiou's Crown artifact. Evergreen rewards run alongside both tracks: Terran currencies, Sigma resources, speed-ups, and even reputation toward Bajoran, Section 31 and Ex-Borg. Terran Favors are broad rather than faction-specific — they cut costs on several ships' upgrade materials (Mantis, Vi'Dar, Voyager, Cerritos, Titan-A among them), boost Apex Barrier against status-afflicted PvP opponents, and raise Shield and Hull Health specifically in the Arena.

06 AUGMENT

Augment reputation is positive-only and earned through missions, events, or store packs. Its store trades in Corrupted Data (red) and Decoded Data (green), mined in Augment space — the Botany Bay is the most efficient ship for the job, and thanks to Khan's Experiments, higher-level Augment systems yield data faster. Data converts to Augment Credits, which buy Augment Tokens, Hijacked Ship Blueprints, Independent Credits, recruit chests, and Plutonium. Plutonium is worth calling out on its own: it's a ship part used specifically for upgrading the Botany Bay and for building hijacked Augment ships, unlocked in Common/Uncommon/Rare tiers at player levels 20/24/30 respectively — so it only ever matters if you're actively running the Augment mining loop. Since the Augment Faction Expansion, reputation now runs through four higher brackets (Patron, Avenger, Superior, Exile) reachable by defeating Augment Exile hostiles for Hijacked Splicers, trading those for Wrath Credits, and spending Wrath Credits on Officer Packs, Planetary Charts and Champion Missions — five-tier combat challenges unlocked at Superior rank that pay out in Khan-related rewards. One caution: raising Augment reputation makes the sector's other native factions increasingly hostile, up to and including hired Bounty Hunters.

07 INDEPENDENT CREDITS

Independent Credits don't belong to any one faction store — they're the currency used to level up Independent officers, and they show up as a reward in more than one place: chests in the Augment Faction Store (the amount depends on your level and reputation), trading Refined Nanoprobes in the Event Store, and occasional Store offers. If you're running Independent officers and wondering where their leveling currency comes from, the Augment loop above is usually the most consistent source.

08 SECTION 31

Section 31 is built entirely around Wave Defense — reputation comes from Wave Defense missions and events, and from pulling in more enemies per wave for faster progress; the tutorial missions "Dossier One" and "Dossier Two" walk you through the basics. Its Faction Store spans 6 ranks and sells Favors (including Operation Hermes, which lets Armada leaders Quick Start an Armada's countdown with Speed-Ups), Wave Defense buffs, Refits, an entry token called the S31 Cipher, Prime Particles, Syndicate XP, Sigma resources, and permanent officer sourcing for Strike Crew officers and Carol Freeman. The Facade is the faction's own building — upgrading it unlocks more store offers, makes Armada Quick Start more efficient, and raises both your daily Speed-Up earn rate and storage cap. Mirror Wave Defense missions pay out a separate currency, Section 31 Mirror Credits, spendable on Agony Booth shards and Forbidden Tech unique to the S31 store.

09 MAVERICK

Maverick is the newest and latest-gated of the seven: it opens at Operations 55 through the Warp Dive Bar, built after finishing the Warp Dive mission from the Gifts section. The Bar is the faction's hub — it unlocks Maverick reputation progress, the Maverick Research Tree, Faction Store bundles, and a Weekly Task Board, and upgrading it improves Isolytic Damage against Conqueror Borg Solo Armadas, Parsteel cost efficiency for buildings, and weekly task keys. Reputation and Credits come almost entirely from Weekly Tasks — solo or alliance-wide, scaled to your Operations level, reset every week — covering things like Conqueror Borg Solo Armadas, spending raw resources on upgrades, fighting FKR hostiles, and clearing V'ger, Aggregation, Transogen or Augment Exile hostiles. The faction's five reputation tiers top out at Maverick rank (1.2 million points), and its headline rewards include five exclusive artifacts, G5-G7 ship parts, and the faction's own Epic officer, Zefram Cochrane.
