Ship Cloaking is one of Star Trek's most iconic mechanics finally in Fleet Command: activating it makes your ship invisible and untargetable, letting you slip past danger or pick the exact moment to strike. It's currently available on 14 Klingon and Romulan combat ships -- the D3, Legionary, Bortas, Centurion, B'rel, Gladius, D4, Augur, K'tinga, Valdore, Pilum, Korinar, Tribune, and Hegh'ta.
Each eligible ship needs its own Cloaking Refit, found in the Ship Cloaking tab of the Refits menu and unlocked permanently by collecting that ship's Cloaking Refit Shards -- from events, Battle Pass rewards, faction stores (bought with Faction Credits), or special offers. Once unlocked, Cloaking becomes an active ability on the ship's ability bar: firing it makes the ship invisible and immune to targeting, lets it warp while cloaked for a surprise repositioning, grants bonus damage on the next attack, and gives roughly a 66% base chance to hide your name and Alliance from enemy Battle Logs. It costs a resource called Tetryons (Invisible Ink), earned through Faction Stores, events, and offers.
Cloaking has a cost, cooldown, and duration that vary by ship and upgrade level, and it drops automatically when the duration runs out, the ship starts mining or attacking (decloaking to engage), the ship docks, or you disable it manually. Duration, cooldown, and activation cost are all tied to the ship's Warp component, so upgrading the ship improves them directly -- and Scopely has flagged more Cloaking-specific research, officers, and consumable buffs for future updates. In practice, Cloaking is most valuable for stealth movement through contested territory, preventing hostile marauders from spawning where you're not welcome, setting up high-damage ambushes, and hiding your identity from an opponent's battle report in PvP.
