As the Borg threat scaled up, scientists across the factions combined the Romulans' Vi'dar design into something stronger -- the Vi'dar Talios, an Epic Grade 4 Interceptor. It arrived with the M51 release, and blueprints come from the missions 'They Have Adapted' Parts 1 and 2, free to owners of a Tier 9 Vi'dar who are Ops 35+, with additional blueprints in the Offers tab.
The Vi'dar Talios can challenge Expansion Cubes for exclusive rewards, boosts rewards from the Borg Refinery, has higher impulse speed than the base Vi'dar, and increases Borg Solo Armada Directives from that refinery. Researching Reclaimator increases the Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Borg Solo Armada Credits you earn from destroying those Armadas, and the Vi'dar Talios Warp Range research extends how far it can reach. It upgrades on Charged Nanoprobes, sourced from the Borg Refinery, the Expansion Cube reward bundle, and the Offers tab.
Expansion Cubes are Armada groups in Borg systems, challenged with Expansion Cube Directives earned by beating Borg Solo Armadas. Their Cube Gravimetric Torpedoes hit hard enough to make them close to invulnerable without help -- which is where the Vi'dar Talios's time-limited Foreknowledge buff comes in. It activates automatically whenever a Borg Sphere is destroyed (whether or not your Vi'dar Talios was part of that fight), lasts one hour, and doesn't stack -- beating another Sphere while it's active just resets the timer rather than extending it further.
