As the Borg made their way through the Delta Quadrant, they efficiently and mercilessly assimilated any species they encountered into the Collective. Over the eons, countless civilizations and differing ways of life have been lost to the Borg hivemind. For the Kis’yhn, a once-peaceful humanoid species hailing from the Delta Quadrant, their encounter with the Borg would be no different. Assimilated and catalogued as Species 1862, the Kis’yhn’s way of life was decimated and erased from existence. Now, they would be forced to be nothing more than another node in the Borg’s network. And yet, despite the loss of everything they once held dear, a single spark remained that would soon light the fires of their resistance. Following their assimilation, a lone Kis’yhn would prove to be incompatible with the Borg hivemind, retaining a semblance of their original identity that could not be erased. Their resistance was quickly recognized by the Borg Queen as a “virus” that could soon propagate throughout the entire Collective. In acknowledgment of this threat, the Borg Queen ordered the severance of the Kis’yhn contingent, condemning them to remain lost and adrift in the Delta Quadrant, as the Collective moved on without them. However, the Kis’yhn would not be so easily forgotten. Utilizing the Borg technology that had been forced upon them, they returned to their homeworld and consolidated their power. There, they discovered Transogen, a naturally occurring element found deep beneath the mantle of the planet. Transogen would soon prove to be their lifeblood. Not only could it be embedded into the systems of the reclaimed Borg technology, making it their own in the process, but it would also serve as a conduit for the influence of the one who inspired the Kis’yhn’s resistance against the Borg. This once-lowly Kis’yhn has now risen up as the Hierarch of a new order. Under the banner of the Node, the Hierarch pursues only one goal - revenge against the Borg.
