Captain D’Chok is one of Spock’s oldest friends. They first met during a diplomatic incident between Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Force, at the Dilithium mining planet of Cajitar IV. A rogue syndicate known as the Broken Circle tried to restart the Klingon War for personal gain, via a false flag attack on D’Chok’s vessel. Spock prevented the attack by destroying the false Federation starship. When D’Chok questioned his motivations, Spock suggested they open a barrel of bloodwine to conclude their discussion and show that he could be trusted. D’Chok was impressed at this suggestion from a Vulcan, and was eager to see the results in person. Since then, D’Chok has continued to excel in the Klingon military, being particularly noted for his genial personality and diplomatic qualities - especially towards non-Klingons. It is surely only a matter of time before Chancellor L’Rell promotes him to the rank of General.
