Update 95: what changed, by Ops level

01 WHO THIS IS FOR

This guide is a map of what Update 95 (the Haven update, with its 95.1 and 95.3 follow-ups) changed in the game, sorted by who it affects. It is written for any Commander from Operations (Ops) level 20 upward, because the Battle Pass and Ascension changes reach down that far, while the big new features (Haven and the U.S.S. Kelcie Mae ship) need Ops 61. Where a change depends on your level the guide says so. The main sources are the official Update 95 patch notes and the 95.1 and 95.3 notes that followed. Things that were time-limited, such as event dates and token deadlines, are mentioned only in the past tense.

02 THE THREE NEW HEADLINE ITEMS

Haven is a planetary base you build through the Iconian Hub on your Station, available from Ops 61; it has its own guide, linked at the bottom of this page. The U.S.S. Kelcie Mae is a Survey ship for Ops 61+ built around Territory Capture mining and defending Capture Nodes, again with its own guide. The Stella Independent Archive is a progression track for owners of the Stella ship: it adds milestone-based unlocks, updated Stella cargo and economy progression, better support for the Rogue loop and its Refinery progression, and completion cosmetics, including the Golden Stella Avatar and "The Rogue" Epic player title.

03 ASCENSION, SYNDICATE AND FORBIDDEN TECH

Ascension is the research route through the generation (G) 4 to 7 ship tiers. Before Update 95, Ops 40+ players could claim a gift bundle (added in 93.1) that unlocked the Ascension Research node for G4. That bundle now contains one Ascension Research Unlock Token, and players at Ops 39 and below no longer get a shortcut: they progress through the Ascension Research Tree to reach G4. Ops 40+ players keep the 93.1 gift. Our Update 93 guide explains why the Ops 39 wall exists. Syndicate Level 61 Instant Warp (a buff that skips travel time) now lists its eligible ships right on the node and in its tooltip. It applies only to ships named on that list, such as the FKR ships (FKR is shorthand for Federation, Klingon and Romulan), the Ra'Ul Reaver and the Amalgam. It will not apply to future G3 to G6 Survey ships, and it does not apply to the Kelcie Mae. Forbidden Tech gained a better upgrade chance for Rare and Epic pieces once Q's Trials are maxed, so the last upgrades from Tier 11, Level 55 up to Tier 12, Level 60 can now be attempted.

04 BATTLE PASS CHANGES

Update 95 brought back most of the Update 94 Battle Pass design: 20 milestones, a Rare officer on the Free track, Ascension Particles for Ops 20 to 50, specialty building upgrade materials, and the Elite benefits of 20 days of bonus warp speed, 20 days of +100% hostile and Armada loot, and a 28-day build queue. For Ops 20+ the Free track's featured Rare officer is WOK Saavik. New or changed for this arc: Elite-track players at Ops 20 and above earn Officer Choice Tokens and swap them for a full unlock of one featured Epic officer. Ops 20 to 60 could pick from Seven of Nine, SNW M'Benga or Odo, and Ops 61 to 80 from VIL Gul Dukat, WOK Carol Marcus or SNW Montgomery Scott. Ops 51+ Elite players can earn shards of Ilia's V'ger Sensor artifact. Ops 61+ players receive more Rare G6 FKR ship parts per redemption in the Supply Exchange, at unchanged token cost; Rare G7 quantities are unchanged. The Starship Overflow Exchange returned for Ops 71+. Resonance Charge, the Haven currency, is also earned on the Free and Elite tracks for Ops 61+. Not returning: the Cause & Effect Artifact Exchange (those artifacts are now bought through Store offers) and the web-only bonus Multiphasic offers.

05 TERRITORY CAPTURE

Territory Capture is the Alliance zone-control feature in the Origin Sector. Update 95 made services rotate monthly instead of every three months, capped each resource at 7 mines in busy systems, added Raw Isogen outside Territory space, enlarged Isogenite Geodes and nodes, and moved three Takeover times. Our Territory Capture guide has a section listing every number, so this page does not repeat them.

06 ALLIANCE TOURNAMENT TASKS

Alliance Tournaments, the Alliance-versus-Alliance competition, returned on September 28 with a larger set of Tasks (the scored objectives each member works on). The official post says Tasks are now more consistent across Ops ranges, so members at different levels see similar goals, and that some gold-bordered Legacy Tasks from earlier runs are back for several more runs. Update 95.1 smoothed the Task screen: Tasks update without reloading the whole list, a Task can no longer be started or re-rolled twice by accident, and each Task shows its own loading indicator. Dates for later runs were announced separately.

07 SMALLER CHANGES AND NEW SEARCH

Several small conveniences arrived. A Recently Viewed Systems list lets you jump back to a system without bookmarking it. Q's Trials challenge hostiles now always spawn in your home system. You can use direct links as shortcuts to Chaos Tech, Forbidden Tech and Officer detail pages. The "Prosperity" mission now asks for 1,500 G2 Raw Gas instead of 3,000 (Update 95.3). Also in 95.3, startrekfleetcommand.com has a new search that can query the official site, STFC.space, or both together.

08 WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Below Ops 40, check the Ascension Research Tree rather than hoping for a gift bundle, because the shortcut now applies only from Ops 40. At Ops 20 and above, claim the Free-track officer and, if you hold the Elite pass, pick the Epic officer that fills a hole in your crew. At Ops 61 and above, build the Iconian Hub for Haven first, since its buffs apply account-wide; then decide whether your Alliance plays Territory Capture before investing in the Kelcie Mae. If your ship relies on Syndicate Instant Warp, look at the eligible list on the node before assuming a new ship qualifies. Everyone can use the new search and the Recently Viewed Systems list.
