STFC reputation grind: crews and locks

MID GAME 4 min read
KEY POINTS
  • Rev Deuce's plan: grind two factions at once up to the first lock (10 million), then add the third.
  • From Operations 40, Mirror Universe hostiles raise all three main factions with one hit. His level 68 example paid 835K per faction.
  • The Orion Syndicate Bomb adds +250% positive Federation, Klingon and Romulan reputation from hostiles. Loot crews help too.
  • At G7 most players grind one faction, but he shows that dual grinding still works.
01 WHAT TO GRIND AT EACH STAGE

Rev Deuce's plan: grind two factions to the first lock (10 million), then add the third. From Operations 40, Mirror hostiles pay all three factions. This is his advice, not a game rule. In G2 and G3 he advises grinding two factions at once. In G7 most players pick one faction, but dual grinding still works. See Federation, Klingon and Romulan: the Big Three factions for the ladder and locks.

02 MIRROR UNIVERSE: ONE HIT RAISES ALL THREE

Normal hostiles work on a two-to-one pattern: a kill gives reputation to two factions and costs you reputation with the third. In the Mirror Universe, every hostile pays the same reputation to all three factions. In his example, a level 68 Mirror hostile shows 835K reputation for each of Federation, Klingon and Romulan, plus a Mega Chest chance. He looks for survey-focused Mirror systems. Mirror Romulus and Mirror Terix are the best-known high-level ones. Lower-level Mirror systems also work if you cannot beat level 68 yet. You enter them through an Interphasic Rift. His view: this is probably the best place to grind reputation, and G4, G5 and G6 players can live there.

03 CREW, SHIP AND TECH THAT RAISE REPUTATION PER KILL

Rev Deuce runs a loot-based crew on his U.S.S. Dauntless, because loot includes reputation. The audio does not name the officers clearly, so none are listed. The Orion Syndicate Bomb (Tier 12, Level 55) gives +250% positive Federation, Klingon and Romulan reputation when you defeat hostiles, plus +130% base ship XP and +30% base loot from non-Armada hostiles. The Agony Booth also boosts positive reputation from the three factions. Chaos Tech: many players like The Godsend for damage, but for reputation grinding in G6 and above he points to the Tan Ru. He also mentions exocomps, for example from the Amalgam Refinery. These are examples, not the only options.

04 EARLY GRINDING: G2 AND G3

In his view, a new player should start with dual faction grinding. His own starting point is a Romulan system, where he hunts traders and survey ships. One screen shows a level 20 Romulan Trader marked very easy. Daily goals also give positive reputation. When you dual grind, you can collect only one faction's daily on a given day to keep the balance while you work toward the next lock. For G3, which he gives as Operations 20 to 39, he points to the faction capital systems. Their hostiles are G4 level but, in his words, very easy to kill with today's ships. He grinds there himself on a level 35 account. He names some crews, but the audio is not clear, so none are listed here.

05 THE DTI FACTION FROM G4

He says the DTI faction becomes more available from G4 and up, and that it can make the mid-level reputation grind very easy. The DTI faction's store lets you trade for reputation. Check the exchange in game before you plan around it. He also says it will not help G7 players.

06 G7: SINGLE FACTION OR DUAL GRIND

He says G7 has it tough. G4 to G6 players live in the Mirror area, but it helps less for G7 players working in the Veil. Why most G7 players pick one faction: the pattern goes back to two-to-one, with no triple Mirror gain. The requirements are very high. And Mirror grinding falls short once you need trillions. Dual grinding is still possible. He shows an account with Federation at about 63.55 trillion and Klingon at about 63.55 trillion, close to each other. The cost is balancing daily rewards, which events you turn in for dailies, your grind and your progression. The gain is more ships, more faction credits and easier normal progression. He stresses this is not an anti-special-ship video.

07 THE LOCK RULE, AND THE SOURCE

Once you reach a lock, that faction's reputation cannot fall below it. This guide follows the video "Reputation: The locks, strategies, equipment, & officers to work with in Star Trek Fleet Command" by Rev Deuce, published 13 October 2026. The figures come from his own accounts at that moment, so check them in your game.
